As we have examined the best robotic vacuum cleaners and mops you can buy, we have encountered a familiar and repeated concern: they all cost too much.
For many average households, the prospect of paying several hundred dollars for a robot vacuum cleaner is just not attractive, especially when one can get a normal push vacuum with fewer management needs for a lot less money. That feeling was still likely to drive down robot vacuum prices, but we now have a low-cost competitor: the $ 75 Pure Clean.
No, it’s not a questionable scam or Kickstarter that we have to study. It’s a real product, and it’s a real robot vacuum cleaner for less than $ 100. Now we have super-cheap models, but they tend to come from less reputable foreign companies without any concern for quality. The Pure Clean model, however, has a detailed and honest description of its specifications.
First, the model comes with sensors provided, plus a 4-inch brush for sweeping debris and a 7-inch brush for vacuuming dust. The battery can be recharged in about three hours and the operating time is about 30 minutes, with a 0.3 liter dust bin that you will need to empty.
There are three selectable modes to control the bot, all based on time: a 10 minute mode, a 20 minute mode and a maximum 90 minute mode. You adjust your time, put the vacuum, and it goes to work. The sensors will prevent it from bouncing off the walls, but otherwise Pure Clean does its own thing and closes again.
This is an interesting approach that has been clearly completed to fill the low-cost section of the market. We see brands like Roomba stacking their units with the latest Wi-Fi controls, sensors that bring back the bot to its charger when the battery gets low, configuration options, different modes of rug and hardwood, and lots of other features.
The Pure Clean keeps the price low by ignoring all this and focusing on the most basic operation possible. Of course, it does not work very well on deep carpets, you need extra supervision, and it does not come with applications … but it does not cost $ 900.
This makes this robot vacuum cleaner an ideal starting point for households who think they would like a model, but are not yet ready to embark on the high end. These 10 and 20 minute modes are ideal for seeing how the model can clean up messes or kitchens: are you tempted to give it a try?
