Earlier, we told you about the Ring Clock, which … the name really says it all. It’s a ring that has a clock, although it’s three stainless steel rings that work together to keep you informed of the time. And the building looks very, very difficult.
First, a quick overview of the device itself, just because it’s pretty cool. As you may have guessed, there are three groups that tell the time; hours, minutes and seconds. In passing, each band lights up with the appropriate number. As you can guess, this is a little complicated engineering that impresses people, and it helps to use wireless charging to pack those electrons and put everything in shape. But the question was, was it a toy or a real tool?
Takes a lickin ‘, continues, er, glowing
It was unclear how much the Clock Clock was going to take on day-to-day abuse. Of course, the concept was cool, and the stainless steel is hard, but there is also a lot of sensitive electronics involved. Was it hard?
Many, as this video shows us. First, they throw it into an aquarium for thirty minutes, because it keeps escaping. Then they show the illumination after a good soak, indicating how difficult it is. Basically, it will stay on your finger and continue to show the time no matter what.
