Woolet: a smart wallet that self-charges

I do not know about you, but I lose my wallet pretty much every hour. Well, it may be an over-statement, but it’s a common problem for men. We covered another smart wallet named Where’s Wallet almost a month ago, and now there’s another entrant in the smart wallet market: Woolet.

Woolet is an even thinner wallet that alerts your phone and raises an alarm when you walk too far from your wallet. It keeps your cards safe, and even has a hidden pocket for cash. It is powered by Bluetooth, and the wallet itself is superb. But what is different from Where’s Wallet is interesting. For one, it’s self-charging, so you never have to worry about changing a battery. Second, the wallet itself has a built-in ringtone so you can use it to track down your phone if you have your Wollet, too. And finally, Woolet has a remote tracking feature in the app that shows you how far your Woolet is and if you get closer, and it’s accurate to within 1.3 feet. Woolet will have a companion app for iOS and Android devices, as long as your phone is capable of Bluetooth 4.0 or 4.1, you will be able to use Woolet.

The Woolet will be available in black and classic suede, both made from the finest hand-stitched calfskin.

Wollet has already more than exceeded its original $ 15,000 Kickstarter goal, and the project now has more than $ 80,000 pledged with more than 640 contributors, and continues to grow. It should be shipped in April 2015 for early birds and a month later for everyone, but there is still plenty of time to support the project on Kickstarter.
